What's your role?

My role as a Trainee Legal Assistant is to provide a high level of administrative support to the New Homes team.

As part of the trainee rotation system I will do a six month seat within Post Completions and as an assistant to a Fee Earner. As I have already spent 18 months coordinating the New Business Team this will give me a vast understanding and knowledge of how the team works as a whole.

My role involves assisting and liaising with Solicitors, Legal Executives, Mortgage Lenders, Brokers, Developers and Local Councils to progress transactions. I am also a direct point of contact for clients if they have any questions as well as being on hand to explain the next steps in the transaction and providing regular updates to them.

Experience

I studied and achieved A level qualifications in Law, Business and English Language at Chichester College. After leaving college I began working for Coffin Mew as the New Business Coordinator and this meant I trained and supervised all members of the New Business team.

I was responsible for the implementation and co-ordination of the New Business function in the New Homes team ensuring that the team provided the highest possible standards of service to our clients and contacts.

My role involved ensuring all work was carried out in line with our team procedures and that compliance of both internal and external standards was complied with. I also arranged training to ensure all members of the New Business team are working to the most up to date requirements.
