What’s your role?
I work with clients from varied backgrounds, from company directors to vulnerable individuals, both young and older adults. I can see clients at home, their place of work or at hospital when required.
I am in a unique position of being on the firm’s Technology and Real Estate Sectors whilst being heavily involved in the Care and Protect Sector, bringing together the two personalities of the firm – Services to Business and Services to Individuals. This provides me with perspective on how the firm can assist a client for their varied needs.
Having supported many clients who have been the victims of scamming, I have become ScamChampion with Friends Against Scams to better highlight the dangers and guide clients and their families to safeguarding their wealth.
Your experience?
I qualified as a Solicitor in 2008 with a local firm. With over 10 years experience in Wills, Trusts and Probate as a qualified Solicitor and an additional 3 years prior as a legal secretary and trainee solicitor working primarily in my chosen area of law I have always recognised that my client and their needs are at the core of my work.
I pride myself on receiving feedback from clients commenting that I make what can appear a daunting matter as easy and straightforward as possible. When executors are dealing with a contentious or difficult probate, I offer myself up as both a sword and shield to support them through the administration process, taking some of the pressure off.
My experience includes:-
- Administering Estates ranging from insolvent to £3 million plus
- Advising and drafting simple to complex wills involving property, life interest and discretionary trusts, disabled person trusts and business assets.
- Drafting and advising on general, specific enduring and lasting powers of attorney. Supporting the donor through the creation and registration process and subsequently the attorneys.
- Drafting deeds including variations of wills (aka deeds of family arrangement), deeds of trust and deeds of gifts.
The Head of Wills, Trusts & Probate is Annabelle Vaughan.
