What's your role?

I draft Wills that meet the client’s requirements and ensure that they are fully aware of all the options available and the inheritance tax position of their estate. If inheritance tax planning is required I am able to assist with this. I also advise clients on the measures they can take in their Wills to protect assets in the event of second marriage or if long term care is required. I also offer advice on the availability and use of business property trusts for business owners to mitigate inheritance tax and trusts for vulnerable beneficiaries where appropriate. I regularly prepare and register Lasting Powers of Attorney and draft Declarations of Trust to regulate ownership of property owned by more than one person. I also deal with the administration of estates from the straightforward to large estates with complex issues such as trusts, businesses and assets in foreign jurisdictions.

Your experience

I attended Reading University where I studied a Law degree and then went to Guilford College of Law where I sat my Legal Practice Course. I then undertook my training contact at a local firm in Southampton where in qualified as a solicitor in 2009. I then stayed there working in their Wills, Trusts and Probate team until the summer of 2014 when I joined Coffin Mew. I am full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a full accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly. I have been involved in a wide variety of cases from straightforward Will drafting to complex estates and enjoy taking on cases that are unusual or challenging.

The Head of Wills, Trusts & Probate is Annabelle Vaughan.
