What's your role?

I am an associate in the Corporate team at Coffin Mew. I have experience in advising across a broad range of corporate transactions on both the buy and sell side. I also advise on corporate governance and general company law matters and on key constitutional documents such as articles of association and shareholders agreements.

I often advise businesses on the design and implementation of employee share schemes. These can be incredibly useful in the recruitment and then retention and incentivisation of key employees. During the process I work closely and collaboratively with clients to ensure the scheme meets the needs of the business to get the most out of employees.

I appreciate that transactions can at times be demanding and I pride myself in providing pragmatic advice and sensible solutions in a calm and collected manner to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible.

Your experience

I qualified as a solicitor in 2014 and joined Coffin Mew in 2016. Since qualifying, I have worked with a wide range of clients, both in the UK and internationally, across a number of different sectors.

The following are examples of some of the transactions that I have been involved in:

  • Assisting with due diligence on the sale of a Thames Valley based technology company to an international based acquirer for in excess of £75 million.
  • Leading on the group restructure and implementation of an employee share scheme for a Solent based IT company with an annual turnover in excess of £14 million.
  • Assisting with the £3.85 million investment by the Business Growth Fund (BGF) into Dolphin Homes, a south coast based care home provider. .
  • Leading on the purchase of an e-commerce business for an overseas purchaser for in excess of £1.5 million.
