What's your role?

I am a Trainee Solicitor at Coffin Mew, currently in my second seat of my Training Contract, in the New Homes team.

As I have experience of working in the team already, my role over the next six months will involve assisting the conveyancers with their workloads and dealing with a variety of different stages of the transaction, including reporting to clients on their Contract/Title and dealing with enquiries raised by buyer’s solicitors on sales.

I will also be assisting management with the set-up of new developments (investigating Title to the land) to ensure it is free of any encumbrances before we act for individual purchasers, in order to advise them appropriately before they buy.

My first seat was in the  Catastrophic and Clinical Injury team, my duties included assisting prospective clients when they make contact with us to see if they have a potential claim, drafting important documents needed throughout the process and attending court and client meetings.

Your experience

Before starting my Training Contract, I worked in the New Homes Team here at Coffin Mew as a Conveyancing Executive for just under four years.

I completed my Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of the West of England in 2017, where I also obtained a First Class qualifying Law degree from in 2014.

I will become a qualified solicitor once I complete my Training Contract in 2021.
