What’s your role?

I assist all the fee earners with various aspects of their work, from drafting detailed letters of claim at the start of matter, instructing medical experts on complex clinical negligence cases and checking and filing essential documents at court. I am also responsible for all new enquiries that come into the team. This involves producing an initial report with my thoughts on a new matter and distributing it to the team so that a decision can be made as to whether to take on the work or not. This involves speaking to a wide range of people from all walks of life that are often in very unfortunate circumstances, dealing with them all in an approachable and friendly manner.

Your experience?

I obtained my undergraduate degree in Music Industry Management in 2015 at the University of East London; achieving a 1st class honours award classification. I then went on to complete both the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law in Guildford. I combined my LPC with a Master of Laws in Professional Legal Practice and achieved a Distinction grade in both my GDL and LPC. I secured my training contract at Coffin Mew in August 2017, before joining the firm as a paralegal in the Commercial Property department in September 2017 before starting my training contract in September 2018.
