What is your role?

My role is a Trainee Legal Assistant is to provide a high level of administrative support to the New Homes team.

As part of the trainee rotation system I will do a 6 month seat in each of the sub teams within New Homes; New Business, Post Completion and as an Assistant to a Fee Earner which will help to give me a vast understanding and knowledge of how the team works as whole.

My role involves assisting and liaising with Solicitors, Legal Executives, Mortgage Lenders, Brokers, Developers and Local Councils to progress transactions. I also have an in-depth understanding of Help to Buy requirements for new build purchases and deal with Help to Buy agencies on a daily basis.

I support the Conveyancers and Solicitors in the team with all aspects of a sale and purchase and I am direct point of contact for clients if they have any questions as well as being on hand to explain the next steps in the transaction and providing regular updates to them.

The head of the New Homes team is Karen Webb

Your experience

I studied and achieved A level qualifications in Law, Psychology and Biology at Barton Peveril College. After leaving college prior to joining Coffin Mew I worked within the HR department of a leading retailer. During this time I conducted interviews whilst working across the recruitment function, assisted the team in payroll and systems and dealt with general telephone enquiries which enhanced my customer service skills, gaining some valuable experience which I can apply to my role at Coffin Mew.
