Your role

I am a Trainee Solicitor in the New Homes team based in Portsmouth.

Your experience

Before joining Coffin Mew, I graduated from Cardiff University in 2015 with a First Class Honours degree in Law.

I subsequently worked as a paralegal in the personal injury sector for a couple of years, dealing with high-value claims. During this time I gained experience dealing with a number of clients who had suffered serious brain, orthopaedic and spinal injuries as a result of an accident. I was responsible for completing a variety of work delegated to me by my team members. These tasks included things such as: dealing with new enquiries, drafting instructions to counsel and medical experts, reviewing important documentation and attending client meetings and conferences.

After securing a training contract with Coffin Mew during the summer of 2017, I left my job as a paralegal and went on to complete my Legal Practice Course with a Masters in Law, Business and Management, where I achieved a distinction. I then decided to take some time out and went travelling for four months around South America before starting my training contract with the firm.
