I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Inheritance & Wills Disputes team based in Portsmouth. My role involves assisting and advising clients where a dispute arises following the death or mental incapacity of a loved one. I assist in dealing with Inheritance Act Claims, challenges regarding the validity of wills, and executor and administration disputes.
My first seat was in the New Homes team advising and supporting clients throughout the process of purchasing a new build property, from reservation through to exchanging and completing.
Before joining Coffin Mew, I graduated from Cardiff University in 2015 with a First Class Honours degree in Law.
I subsequently worked as a paralegal in the personal injury sector for a couple of years, dealing with high-value claims. During this time I gained experience dealing with a number of clients who had suffered serious brain, orthopaedic and spinal injuries as a result of an accident. I was responsible for completing a variety of work delegated to me by my team members. These tasks included things such as: dealing with new enquiries, drafting instructions to counsel and medical experts, reviewing important documentation and attending client meetings and conferences.
After securing a training contract with Coffin Mew during the summer of 2017, I left my job as a paralegal and went on to complete my Legal Practice Course with a Masters in Law, Business and Management, where I achieved a distinction. I then decided to take some time out and went travelling for four months around South America before starting my training contract with the firm.
