What's your role?

I specialise in acting for both employers and employees dealing with non-contentious and contentious employment work. I provide practical guidance, support and advice on all aspects of employment law.

I am primarily based at the firm’s Newbury office but work across the firm’s other offices.

I am used to working with employers as well as senior managers and HR advisers in advising on risk management employment policies and procedures and dealing with staff problems in the workplace as well as changes to staff contracts redundancies TUPE transfers etc.

Many employment problems can be resolved by practical rather than legal solutions, and this is usually a better and cheaper way of resolving potential and actual disputes in the workplace.
I try to focus on advising on minimising the potential of litigation and unnecessary costs and time whilst meeting the needs of my clients. I think it is important to gain a better understanding of my clients and their business needs and to see them in their workplace where possible.

I work with all types of businesses and companies ranging from national businesses to small and medium sized companies and start up firms. I provide prompt, practical and targeted advice to enable employer clients to carry on as normal whilst dealing with any employment issues that arise.

I also have great experience in advising employee clients on disciplinary, grievance matters in the workplace as well as potential and actual Employment Tribunal claims.

I’m a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and I regularly present training and seminars on topical employment matters as well as writing for local newspapers and magazines, as well as the occasional radio appearance.

Although I am a generalist Employment Lawyer, which means I am experienced in all aspects of employment law.
