Solicitor - Family

What's your role?

I help clients who are facing difficulties within the family.  I regularly advise on separation, divorce and civil partnership dissolution and its impact on the arrangements for the children and the finances.  I provide clients with information as to the various processes that are available to resolve their difficulties and provide practical advice tailored to the client’s individual needs.  I am a member of Resolution, which means I adhere to a code of conduct that promotes a non-confrontation approach to family problems.

Your experience

I studied law at Bournemouth University and obtained a degree with First Class Honors in 2008. I subsequently did the legal practice course and qualified with a commendation. I started working in the legal profession as a paralegal in the family department for 2 years before commencing my training contract when I then I worked in different areas of law for 18 months. I chose family law as my specialism and qualified in March 2013.   I have acted for many clients who are facing separation and need assistance sorting out the arrangements for the children, what happens to the family home and how to divide other assets that have been built up during the relationship.
