What's your role

I am an Associate in the Commercial Property Team and head the Pension Property Investment Team.

I work in all areas of commercial property, but have particular specialist knowledge of dealing with pension investment property transactions, having been a panel solicitor for some of the biggest and best known pension providers in the country since 2004.

My work with pension provider clients ranges from running day-to-day transactional matters, through to helping create standard documentation, providing training for staff and offering in-house support and document reviews. I work very closely with my clients and am often involved at an early stage, advising on the best structure for transactions, to meet the complex requirements of pension legislation.

In addition I have a broad caseload of general commercial property work covering sales, purchases, leases, secured lending and property management work.

Your experience

I have a caseload comprising of investment property sale and purchase transactions, landlord and tenant work and secured lending. I also provide property support for corporate transactions where required.

I have been a pension trustee panel solicitor since 2004, dealing with all aspects of property work for SIPP and SSAS pension schemes. This involves buying and selling properties, granting leases, and dealing with licences and other associated property management matters.

Some of the types of transaction I have been involved in are:

Structuring SIPP and SSAS pension property transactions where the Property is part residential, so that the pension scheme retains its tax benefits, whilst keeping Stamp Duty Land Tax implications to a minimum
Acting on behalf of pension schemes purchasing part shares in commercial premises
Acting on the purchase of a property for 10 investors through a syndicate, complicated by some of those investors being pension trustees
Completing urgent lease and secured lending matters for clients in just a few days
