Coffin Mew Solicitors have advised Pelgar International Limited on its acquisition of Agropharm Holdings.

Pelgar Group, an international manufacturer and distributor of pesticides, has acquired Agropharm Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries. The target group included an African Subsidiary, which is key to the target market of Africa which has major contracts with agricultural and horticultural businesses in the emerging markets. As part of the deal, The Pelgar Group refinanced with Barclays Bank plc who also provided a term loan facility for the acquisition of the target group.

Amanda Brockwell and Jennifer Packer of Coffin Mew’s Corporate team advised Pelgar Group and worked on due diligence, the sale documents and the refinancing deal with Barclays.

The acquisition has enhanced Pelgar Group’s position in Africa and beyond and the combined customer base brings with it also an ability to benefit from economies of scale. It has also increased the overall group’s manufacturing capacity with a new bottling facility at its site in Telford.

The transaction was led by Menzies Corporate Finance Limited. Other advisors included Downs Solicitors and Osborne Clarke.
