The Portsmouth-based B2B voice, mobile, data and video communications reseller based in Portsmouth had been a Daisy Group wholesale partner since 2004. It had been owned and run by Vince Potter, Greg Tutt and Steve Tutt.
Our team was led by Corporate Partner, Hayley Bevis, who was assisted by Associate Solicitor, Jonathan Sherman. Support was also provided by Eve Laws in our commercial property team, Mark O’Halloran, Rebecca West, Andrew Jerrard and Guy Cartwright in our commercial team and Leon Deakin, Amy Richardson and Charlotte Allery in the firm’s employment team.
Hayley Bevis, head of Coffin Mew’s corporate team, explained:
“As a firm, we had been working with DV02 since 2009. Over the past nine years, the business has gone from strength to strength and the execution of this transaction is a great achievement for Vince, Steve and Greg. As a successful telecoms business in the Solent region with some very high profile vendor partners, it really does show the current strength in the sector.
As for Coffin Mew, this transaction is a glowing example of our team’s knowledge of the sector and significant M&A experience. The deal timetable was challenging, but the team worked incredibly hard to achieve completion in around 8 weeks from start to finish. We wish Vince, Steve and Greg and DV02 well for the future”.
Steve Tutt said of Coffin Mew’s involvement:
“I cannot speak highly enough of the effort that everyone involved in the deal at Coffin Mew put in.
The due diligence process was extremely comprehensive and Coffin Mew’s involvement was invaluable – not only because the legal foundation they’d helped us develop for our business ensured a clean bill of health – but because of their breadth of expertise they had to support us with the transaction.
The tight timescale required much work outside of business hours, which Hayley and her team were always happy to accommodate.”
