Double Success: Two trainees qualify as solicitors

Posted on: September 20th, 2021

Stephanie Ponton and Beth Hullah have both qualified as solicitors on the same day at Coffin Mew, and both have chosen to continue their careers at the firm.

Stephanie has selected the firm’s private client division for her career and will specialise in wills, trusts, probate and Court of Protection law. Beth has chosen to specialise in employment, commercial and intellectual property law.

Both Stephanie and Beth are first-class honours graduates in Law. Stephanie joined Coffin Mew in September 2019, after completing her LPC.  Beth joined the business after securing a trainee contract with them in summer 2017, following her LPC and after working for two years as a paralegal in personal injury.

Stephanie Ponton, said: “What is great about Coffin Mew is that trainees can work across several sectors before committing to a particular field.  I have really enjoyed my time here so far and I’m looking forward to my next set of challenges.”

Beth Hullah, added: “Coffin Mew’s inclusive approach to all its staff means that I have never felt unable to approach anyone for help, regardless of their position. This is massively important, both personally and for our clients. On the assessment day before I joined, Coffin Mew stood out as a place I wanted to work, above other firms. My loyalty hasn’t changed.”

Miles Brown, CEO and Training Partner, Coffin Mew said: “Nurturing and developing our team is at the heart of what we do, as it is better for our staff and our clients. Having two trainees qualify with us at the same time and progress to jobs within the firm is testament to the success of our approach and our training programmes.  Both Stephanie and Beth will be exceptional solicitors, and we are proud that they have chosen to stay with Coffin Mew for the next stage of their career.”
