Coffin Mew walks for mental health

Posted on: May 20th, 2019

Staff from the Coffin Mew offices walked every day last week as part of Mental Health Awareness Week (13th – 19th May).

Based across the South Coast and Thames Valley, the law firm’s teams put their trainers on every lunchtime and headed outside for a 30 minute walk around the local area, as part of their health and wellbeing initiatives.

Liz Cheaney, HR Director at Coffin Mew, said:

Evidence shows there’s a link between good mental wellbeing and being physically active. The lunchtime walks are a great way for us to get some fresh air, keep active, and ensure we’re doing everything we can to improve our mental wellbeing.

Led by the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committee, the walks around the towns in Portsmouth, Southampton, Brighton and Wantage were being staggered over lunchtimes to enable as many staff as possible to attend a walk.

As well as creating initiatives such as these wellness walks, the CSR Committee is focused on caring for the environment and supporting local charities.
