Coffin Mew Solicitors has gained recognition for a wide range of legal services in the Legal 500’s 2014 league table of top firms in the UK.

Areas of expertise gaining “recommendations” in the handbook include: Corporate and Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Insolvency and Corporate Recovery, Employment, Intellectual Property and IT and Telecoms, Commercial Property, Charities and not for profit, Family, Personal tax, Trusts and Probate and Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury.

One partner included on the highly acclaimed “South East’s leading individuals listing” – Amanda Brockwell, Corporate.

Our Employment team leapt to Tier 2. The “excellent” team is led by the “extremely bright” Dorlee Monschau, and includes Susy Perry who joined as a solicitor in December and Amanda Brockwell, who attracts praise for her knowledge of MBO-related employment issues.

The Commercial Property team has “the necessary clout” and “work together as a team”.

The Corporate team has impressive cross-border experience, advising Verde Horticultural Holdings on its acquisition of Landgard from its German-owned holding company. Amanda Brockwell led the advice on this matter and, in common with Nick Gross, has substantial experience in the market.

Dispute Resolution’s “excellent team” “shows the rest how it should be done”.

Our Insolvency and Corporate Recovery team are recognised as having a broad insolvency and business recovery practice, covering areas including bankruptcy, claims against directors and company voluntary arrangements. Coffin Mew acted in the chargeholder-driven administration of the Arena Group. Other clients include KPMG, MacIntyre Hudson and Kingston Smith & Partners.

Managing Partner Miles Brown says:

Our rankings in the Legal 500 are important to the firm because they show the quality of work and breadth of services that we provide to our clients and referrers. It is a fantastic achievement for our Employment team to have been recognised as Tier 2. Our excellent position in the South East is attributable to the determination of our highly motivated teams who have embraced our business strategy.
