Life on the South Coast
Our South Coast locations lend themselves to an outdoors lifestyle, which can be enjoyed in some of the warmest and driest weather in the UK. The lovely sunny climate and fresh sea breezes reinvigorate the spirits of even the busiest professionals!
There are miles of beautiful award winning golden sands in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Hayling Island and West Wittering; iconic pier and pebbles on Brighton beach; beautiful harbour areas, sailing clubs and luxury marinas where a summer drink can be enjoyed after work. The South Coast is a paradise for sailors, kayakers, paddle boarders and open water swimmers, with plenty of locations to learn to sail, and events to truly get into the coastal lifestyle, such as the annual Cowes week regatta and the Southampton Boat Show.
For horse, car and flying enthusiasts the world famous Goodwood estate is on the doorstep with glorious Goodwood, Goodwood Revival and the Festival of Speed being key dates in the social calendar. Festival goers flock to the Isle of Wight just a short trip across the Solent for the renowned annual Bestival and Isle of Wight Festival.
The area has stunning scenery and is bordered by two National Parks: the New Forest National Park and the South Downs National Park described as “the green gym on our doorstep” with opportunities to enjoy cycling, horse riding and walking.
Culturally, there is a wealth of history, heritage and naval connections with Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard, Southampton Submarine Museum and in Brighton the stunning Regency Pavilion takes centre stage on the cultural map.
The Solent region has plenty to offer with some of the best art and theatre outside London; excellent retail options ranging from the exclusive boutiques and independent shops in the picturesque, historic streets of Winchester, Salisbury and Chichester and the cosmopolitan quirky shopping in the North Laine and Lanes area of Brighton, to waterfront retail of the highest quality at Gun Wharf Quays and West Quay.
The area is well served by two local airports: Southampton and Bournemouth with frequent flights to UK destinations, Europe and beyond. London is very accessible from the region with trains from Winchester and Petersfield taking only 1 hour.
