Event – 22 November – Coffin Mew’s Employment Breakfast Seminar
Please join us for our Employment Breakfast Seminar in Southampton.
Date: Wednesday 22 November
Venue: The Ageas Suite, The Ageas Bowl, Southampton, SO30 3HX
With the recent news that the Employment Tribunal fees have been removed with immediate effect, many businesses are fearing an increase in claims brought by employees. We will look at the impact this decision will have on businesses, and the risks you need to consider.
The ability to have an off the record conversation with employees is underutilised by businesses, often due to fear that the protection will not apply and the conversation will later come back to haunt the business. The ability to use these conversations effectively will be even more important in light of the increased risks for business following the recent news.
In this seminar we’ll look at how protected conversations can be used effectively by businesses to quickly resolve difficult situations. We’ll focus on how you can manage these conversations in practice by looking at some examples, and the common pitfalls to avoid. We’ll also look at the key issues you need to consider when negotiating settlement agreements to ensure your business is protected. We’ll also be providing you with our ever popular legal update on recent cases and what’s on the horizon, and of course, breakfast!
The seminar will cover:
- The removal of Employment Tribunal fees – what do you need to know?
- When should you use protected conversations?
- The protected conversation in practice
- Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
- Settlement Agreements – do your current agreements protect your business?
- Key interesting cases and what’s on the horizon
